Reminders of resiliency are everywhere in this session where charm bracelets are created. Participants will choose symbols meaningful to them so that they will be an ever-present reminder that strength and resiliency is within us all. Creativity is also a healing activity and a great option for attendees who like to work with their hands.
The Clothesline Project is an empowerment project where attendees design a T-shirt with a message of hope and resilience to be gifted to a young client at the CACAC. Attendees are welcome to create a second shirt to keep for themselves. The completed T-shirts are strung on a clothesline as an art installation showing the messages of resiliency given from stranger to stranger, yet conveying hope and empowerment.

HeartMath emotion regulation has demonstrated benefits in a wide variety of contexts including for teachers, students, nurses, physicians, therapists, social workers, military, police, first responders, firefighters, athletics/coaching, and the list goes on. There are over 400 published peer-reviewed studies (over the past 30+ years) supporting the effectiveness of their emotion-regulation techniques and biofeedback. We will discuss some of this research, try out biofeedback, and gain hands-on experience with HeartMath practices.
Welcome to the forest of rest. In this space we will minimize the external stimuli of the day through gentle breath, movement and inward stillness. Our intention: planting seeds of sensation and relaxation that will grow a sanctuary within.

Growing up in a home filled with abuse, rejection and chaos, Alisha spent years just wanting to feel loved. That search led her into the hands of people who used and exploited her – but it didn’t end there. In this honest and powerful talk, Alisha shares how she found her voice, her strength, and a love that started from within.
